Steve’s Mini Mayhem Stag Day at Hover Force

When Steve’s mates started planning his stag do, they knew one thing straight away — they didn’t want the usual predictable day out. No awkward activities. No sitting around. Just a proper day packed with laughs, competition, and something everyone could get involved in.

So they built their own Mini Mayhem Bundle at Hover Force, mixing together three completely different experiences: hovercrafting, live fire shooting, and off-road dirt buggies. Even better, it wasn’t just the younger crowd taking part. Steve’s dad and future father-in-law came along too — although, if you’d asked them that morning, they weren’t convinced they’d survive the pace of the day. By the end of it, they were some of the most competitive people there.

One thing that made the day even easier to organise was the location. Steve’s uni mates are now scattered all across the North West, with people travelling from Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, and everywhere in between, so meeting in Cheshire made perfect sense. Hover Force’s location just off the M56 meant everyone could get there without a nightmare journey, making it an ideal spot for a stag do that brought different groups of friends and family together in one place.

The day kicked off with hovercrafting across the marshland tracks. After a quick briefing and a few cautious laps, confidence grew quickly. It didn’t take long before everyone was drifting wide into corners, laughing at near misses, and trying to outdo each other on the water sections. Steve’s father-in-law admitted afterwards he expected it to be “a gentle drive around a field,” but quickly realised controlling a hovercraft was far more entertaining — and chaotic — than he imagined.

Next came the live fire shooting range, where the atmosphere changed from pure chaos to focused competition. The group took to the firing lanes surprisingly seriously, with plenty of bragging rights on the line over who had the best aim. What started as nervous first shots soon turned into genuine rivalry between generations, with Steve’s dad quietly putting in some of the tightest groupings of the day.

The final challenge was the dirt buggies. Mud flying, engines roaring, and everyone desperate to put in the fastest lap time. The younger lads expected to dominate this part, but experience clearly counts for something — because the older generation held their own and absolutely threw themselves into it. By the final laps, nobody cared about age gaps anymore. It was just full-throttle competition and non-stop laughs.

One of the best things about creating a custom stag do activity bundle is that the day naturally suited everyone. Some wanted adrenaline, some wanted competition, and some just wanted a memorable day together before the wedding. The mix of activities gave them exactly that.

After the final scores were settled and the last photos taken, the older crowd headed home with plenty of stories to tell, while the younger lads carried the stag do on into Liverpool City centre for the evening celebrations.

For Steve, it turned out to be exactly what a stag day should be — a chance to get everyone together, try something different, and create the kind of memories people still talk about long after the wedding’s over.
